It also reaffirms the vital role of indigenous innovation in building a sustainable, globally competitive Nigerian oil and gas industry. Thank you for your invaluable support and contributions.”

Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe Executive Secretary, NCDMB

The NCDMB Technology Innovation Challenge (TIC) is the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board's flagship research and innovation programme dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and commercialising indigenous technologies that address critical challenges in Nigeria's oil and gas industry and its linkage sectors.

As the Board's premier innovation initiative, NCDMB TIC advances NCDMB's vision of strengthening local content by transforming high-potential research and innovative ideas into commercially viable technologies that create economic value, enhance industrial competitiveness, and deepen Nigeria's technological capabilities.

NCDMB TIC: innovation, collaboration, growth, solutions, and sustainability across Nigeria's oil and gas industry.
Our Purpose

Bridging Research and Commercial Success

Innovation has the greatest impact when it moves beyond the laboratory and into real-world application. NCDMB TIC was established to bridge the gap between research and commercial success by providing innovators with the structure, mentorship, industry engagement, and support needed to develop market-ready solutions.

The programme brings together researchers, startups, academia, industry professionals, technology developers, and entrepreneurs to solve real challenges facing the energy sector while creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth and indigenous technology development.

TIC 2026: Empowering Innovators. Building Tomorrow. Collaborate, Innovate, Transform.
The Journey

From Research to Commercialisation

NCDMB TIC follows a structured innovation journey designed to help promising ideas become deployable solutions.

The programme begins with the NCDMB TIC Workshop, where prospective participants gain insight into the Board's priority challenge areas, evaluation criteria, programme expectations, and opportunities available throughout the challenge. The workshop equips innovators with the knowledge required to develop stronger, industry-relevant proposals while providing opportunities to engage directly with experts, mentors, and key stakeholders.

Following the workshop, the Call for Applications opened in December, inviting researchers, innovators, startups, research institutions, academia, industry suppliers, and members of the public to submit proposals aligned with NCDMB's approved thematic areas and priority industry challenges.

Selected participants progress through a rigorous evaluation process, receiving mentorship, business development support, and opportunities to refine their solutions. Outstanding innovations are further supported through incubation, investor engagement, and commercialisation within the NCDMB innovation ecosystem.

Focus Areas

Strategic Thematic Areas
